Goalkeeper Academy

Our mission: Is to produce the very best goalkeepers in the area by providing a professional atmosphere of training in conjunction with our international level of playing and training methodology at goalkeeper’s training level.

Our Program: The Stampede Goalkeeper Academy offers two extensive programs for goalkeepers based on each the individuals playing experience. Each session will be run by Antonio Marriel, the Stampede’s PDL Goalkeeper Coach. The Stampede has a program for every player regardless of playing experience, age, size, or ability. Students will be grouped into different training sessions based on age and skill level to ensure maximum results. The sessions will start on Wednesday, March 19th and Monday, March 24th at the Ocala Regional Sportsplex (SW 67th Ave, Ocala, FL, 34474). The Monday sessions will run from 4:30pm-6pm and the Wednesday sessions will run from 6:30-8pm. The Goalkeeper Academy is a seven week program that will run on consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays and will cost $150 for 7 sessions or $30 per each single session. PHASE I: (JUNIORS) 10-15 year olds

This program is designed for beginner goalkeepers to meet their different physical, psychological and technical needs. This phase has been created to expand the skills of students playing at the recreational level, who have the determination to move on to a higher level of competition or their improve technical skills.

PHASE II: (ELITE)

This program is designed for goalkeepers who have already mastered some technical aspects of this position. Players will be evaluated by our staff to determine if the player can meet the demands the intensive training the program requires. The training is the most advanced available in the Central Florida area, it is open for any college bound, college or current professional Goalkeeper. Each of our Goalkeeper Academy sessions will be covering topics that trains the major pillars of a goalkeeper:

  • Footwork and mobility
  • Basic/advanced handling techniques
  • Low saves diving
  • Medium-contour diving
  • Extended diving
  • Shot Stopping
  • Dealing with crosses
  • Angle of plays
  • Set pieces set-up
  • Distribution
  • Communication
  • Flexibility/Coordination
  • Strength/Agility training
