Bill Reed

Bill Reed,49, is a co-owner of Ocala Stampede. Bill grew up in St. Mary’s, West Virginia, and moved to Ocala from Annapolis.Bill and his wife, Lesia, have two children, Morgan, 19, a sophomore at Flagler College, and Brooke, 14, a freshman at Forest High School.

Also the part-owner of Cardiovascular Insights, a medical specialty company in Ocala, and new owner of Brick City Health & Fitness, Bill recently pursued his dream of combining two of his favorite pastimes, business and sports, into one ministry. This led to the formation of Ocala Stampede. The elite training program offers the highest level of athletic play while also acting as a platform for spiritual mentoring. The ultimate plan is to produce a proficient group of players who also serve their community as positive role models.

Burt Reed

Bill’s brother, Burt Reed, became a financial partner of Ocala Stampede after hearing about the mixture of sports and ministry. This was something that really appealed to Burt, a world-class athlete who played college baseball. Also a physical therapist and trainer living in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Burt joined Bill in the new Brick City venture. In his relationship with Ocala Stampede, Burt is using his expertise in the sports arena to provide a vast knowledge of injury prevention and recovery. This will make a difference to the players as they get into more serious competitive play.

Ted Strawbridge

A co-owner of Ocala Stampede, Ted Strawbridge is 52 years old and has served as pastor of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church since 2021. Ted earned a masters of divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. He and his wife, Mary Lu, both grew up in Lakeland, Florida, “long before soccer was offered in schools there,” said Ted. The Strawbridges moved here after serving in a church in Augusta, Georgia. Ted and Mary Lu have five children and two grandchildren. All five of their children were avid players with the Big Sun Youth Soccer League in Ocala. Though Ted is not active in sports, he believes his calling ties in with the missions aspect of Ocala Stampede. He has committed his church to hosting players and to providing opportunities for involvement in youth activities.
