Cheyne Roberts
Cheyne Roberts joined the Ocala Stampede in 2021 as the Head Coach and Executive Director. A Florida native, Cheyne comes back to Florida to take over the reins of the 2021 Southeast Division Champions. Roberts will be responsible for all aspects of the Ocala Stampede organization.
Roberts joined the Ocala Stampede with previous college coaching experience and a professional playing career in the states after his collegiate career at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Roberts has amassed a 22-6-4 record in 2 seasons with the Stampede while leading the club to two consecutive division championships (2021,2021), one conference championship (2021) and an appearance in the national semi-finals. The club has played in three US Open Cup games under Roberts leadership, losing to the USLPRO Champions and current MLS team Orlando City twice. Coach Roberts has seen numerous team of the week players under his direction and coached three PDL All-Conference selections during his tenure. The Ocala Stampede have seen players earn professional contracts after their time under Roberts and has seen players continue to earn accolades in their collegiate careers during and after their time with the club.
Roberts was the men’s assistant coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University for 2021 and 2021 seasons. During that time he helped lead the Sailfish to a top-25 national ranking. Roberts coached NCAA All-Region, NSCAA All-Americans, and a Player of the Year during his time.
Roberts was a four-year starter during his time as a collegiate soccer player at Palm Beach Atlantic University. During his time he was able to achieve All-Region, All-American, Scholar All-American accolades.
Roberts professional playing career started with signing for the Charlotte Eagles in 2021 after graduating from college. Roberts spent 3 seasons with the Charlotte Eagles of the USL-PRO before signing with VSI Tampa Bay FC. Roberts has played 4 seasons of professional soccer in the United States, before retiring from injury.
